Dear Reader,

Welcome to the Chicago HOPES blog for TAB West in East Garfield Park. In this space, Lynn and I intend to provide updates, anecdotes, and reflections related to our time as tutoring program coordinators at the shelter.

TAB West is unique among its fellow Chicago HOPES sites as it comes into the program as part of our Spring 2009 expansion. In addition to introducing a new space, new students, and new volunteers, we will be piloting a special social and emotional learning curriculum at the site. We are excited to bring Chicago HOPES' unique learning opportunities to the students living at TAB West.

Our first day with students and volunteers is Monday 26 January from 3:30 until 5:00 in the afternoon. Check back for reflections on our first week of tutoring.
